With its interchangeable front and top panels, you can adapt this case for either optimal cooling performance or whisper quiet operation. This adjustability extends to the internal layout as well, thanks to a removable motherboard tray that can be positioned for a standard or inverted layout - and even removed entirely for use as a test bench! No matter what configuration you choose, you’ll have ample space for the latest gaming hardware, as the spacious main chamber is compatible with a wide range of components including E-ATX motherboards, GPUs up to 432mm long, large tower air coolers, and multiple fans. In fact, the Silent Base 802 includes three Pure Wing 2 140mm fans pre-installed in its scope of delivery.

Silent Operation or Maximum Cooling
With the inclusion of mesh and solid panels for the front and top of the case, the be quiet! Silent Base 802 can be customised for either highly efficient cooling performance or minimal acoustic noise. If you prefer a whisper quiet computer, then the sound dampened panels will be the perfect fit. These panels feature a solid construction and include an extra thick dampening mat that measures up to 10mm thick, perfect for absorbing any vibrations.
Alternatively, if you’d prefer extra cooling performance, then you can opt for the mesh panels. The front panel features highly porous mesh layered over a honeycomb design frame, allowing your front intake fans ample access to cool air. Meanwhile, the top panel, which replaces the two-piece solid plastic panel, boasts a fine mesh encased in a steel frame. This not only allows air to easily exit your PC, but also acts as a dust filter.
Adaptable Layout
The be quiet! Silent Base 802 offers plenty of options when it comes to building a dream gaming PC. With its removable motherboard tray, you have the option to build a standard layout computer. Alternatively, you can flip the motherboard’s position to an inverted layout or even remove it entirely and use the tray as an open-air test bench.
Once you’ve chosen your preferred layout, you’ll have ample space for your gaming hardware. The Silent Base 802 is compatible with a wide range of components, including 305mm x 275mm E-ATX motherboards. With 185mm of clearance, there is plenty of space to install a large tower CPU air cooler. Plus, you can install full sized graphics cards, as there is room for GPUs up to 432mm long and seven expansion slots.
Versatile Cooling
Depending on which configuration you choose for the be quiet! Silent Base 802, there are multiple options when it comes to cooling hardware. In total, the case features eight mounting points for fans. The front and top panels both offer three locations, where 120mm or 140mm fans can be installed. An additional 140mm fan can be attached to the rear panel, with the PSU shroud featuring a mount for a 120mm or 140mm fan. What’s more, the Silent Base 802 includes three Pure Wings 2 fans pre-installed.
However, some of these locations will not be functional depending on what outer panels you decide to use. Whether you choose the solid or mesh panel for the front, your intake fans will always have access to cool air, thanks to a pair of air vents that run up both sides of the front panel.
It is the top of the case that features the most variety of cooling configurations. By using the mesh panel, all three fan mounts can be utilised. Meanwhile, with the full sound dampening panel installed, airflow through the top of the case is cut off. Although, as this panel comes in two pieces, the rear section can be removed, allowing for a single fan to exhaust out the top of the case.
